A Year In Ireland

So i've finally done it. I've wanted to start a blog for years and I finally found a blog name I liked. My father thought of it within seconds of me asking him for ideas. Seconds. I've been trying to think of a good name for quite some time and he comes up with The Gaelic Gadabout off the top of his head. This is why he always wins at Scategories. But I digress. My name is Tara and I am currently in Ireland for a school year working toward getting my Master's in Irish Literature and Culture. My goal for the blog is to keep my friends and family updated on whatever adventure I am on. Also, photography is a hobby of mine and I hope to share my photos with everyone. I honestly have no idea what I am doing so please bear with me as I start my first blog.

I arrived in Ireland about two weeks ago and have found a room to rent in a wonderful house within the town, Enfield. My college is the National University of Ireland, Maynooth and is in the town of Maynooth. Enfield is about 10 mins from Maynooth (20 mins on the bus). I have been busily settling into my house and haven't had a chance to really explore the town outside of the main street.
I did get a chance to visit Maynooth which has a beautiful university and town. I will have to post pictures of both, along with the history of Maynooth, later.

I am very excited to get started with school and to share my experiences with you all! Please feel free to ask questions or leave comments for me below. :)

I took this picture while visiting a friend in Sallins, Ireland. I stayed with his family the first two days I arrived to Ireland and have many more photos of Sallins to come!

    1. Hi KMc! I was lucky enough to find my room through my college. They have a page where renters can post rooms for students. However, I know there are a few sites where anyone can look for rooms or flats. www.daft.ie ie.easyroommate.com and www.rent.ie are just a few I found. Look for sharing or rooms to rent. The further you are from a big city, like Dublin, the cheaper the rooms. Just something to keep in mind. Good luck and make your dreams happen!
