Second Day in Sallins

On my second day in Sallins, I decided to walk along the canal. I had to walk into town and then cross over the road to walk on the gravel path that ran along the canal. It was a very peaceful walk and I am lucky enough to have found another canal in Enfield that I can walk along.

The path along the canal in Enfield is part of the Royal Canal Way. I found a description and a map of the Royal Canal Way on the Irish Trails website, www.irishtrails.ie/Trail/Royal-Canal-Way/28/. To summarize the description, the canal was created to connect Dublin with the upper River Shannon and was completed in 1817. The Royal Canal Way starts near Dublin and ends in the village Abbeyshrule. It takes a few days to walk or bike the entire canal.

First, however, I will share my photos along the canal in Sallins...

Here are a few boats I found along the canal.

I really loved this grass, it was purple!

Today, I walked along the canal in Enfield...

Had a nice visitor on my walk.
I stopped walking and this little fella came up to me and then went on his way.

Induction for classes start tomorrow and I am looking forward to getting started with school. I went on a hike yesterday to Sugar Loaf Mountain and have photos that I will be posting soon.
